Tonight we had some of our friends from Arlington up for a lovely dinner. It was great to catch up with so many fun peeps and to share a meal with them...I feel Italian...eating so much food and life revolving around yummy food.
Can you tell Brandon liked the chow? I think he just mentioned food about 4 times in less than 4 sentences! It was a really good dinner because of the food, but especially because of the people. We invited a bunch of our old neighbors/ward members/friends up for dinner and they were so generous with their Sunday time, driving over an hour to visit with us. Everyone fit very comfortably in our little place and we had a round table "catch up" session where we made everybody take a turn and fill us in on what was going on in their life.
It was indeed great (this is Brandon again) to catch up with some of these people who have been a large part of our life over the last few years. We be excited (eat your heart out, Clutch/Kimmy-Cakes) to hear all the interesting going-ons in their lives and all of the gossip from the "Melrose"/C1 where we used to live. Our top words of wisdom from the evening:
1. Just remember to occasionally toss out old food... if it is hard for you to discern what is old have somebody you trust help you set limits
2. If one of your friends marries another one of your friend's mother, take heed of this statement: "You might marry my mom, but you will never be my father"
3. Michael Helgesen is cute....look at the pic...and we say that in the platonic way that two men in other cultures might hold hands with each other to express affection and admiration
Sounds fun Maggie! I see your picture frame of wedding pictures in the background- and I actually recognize some of them- yay! Hope all is great with you two. Take care!
ReplyDeleteIt's been so fun talking to you the past couple of times. Good luck with the job search. Love ya!
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited you have a blog! WE...sort of...have one. We've set up the blog but I think we've only used it once. I need to figure out how to link it with yours...Thoughts for another day. Ammon and I are both sick today. And I don't mean that in th "wink, wink, nudge, nudge" kind of way. He got sick last week and it's still lingering. I got sick on Monday and needed a day to rest. Hope Valentine's was fun! Love you both!
