I thought I'd put a few pics up of the awesome baby stuff we've started to accumulate. Our family and friends have been so generous and the "nursery" is coming together nicely. I put nursery in quotes only because we will most likely not be in this apartment more than 6-7 months after "baby girl Woodland" is born, but I still can't help myself from even just temporarily decorating it up really cute. I just spent time with our friend, Carolyn, who is going to do some paintings for us to put in the nursery-- so exciting! As I keep reminding Brandon, "Yes, I know she won't notice, but I will-- this is really all for me." :)
This is the color scheme-- a few different pinks from the tulip print, white, and yellow. I have never been a pink kind of girl, but this bedding was super cute and a steal (my friend found it for us and grabbed it up before someone else found it!), so we are accenting all the pink with yellow. (See yellow nightstand below, and I have also made curtain ties and a wall hanging with the yellow fabric-- I know, nesting is kicking in.)
Not that material things can replace having family close by, but it has been a really special experience to receive gifts from parents and step-parents-- like they are helping us get ready from afar. Actually, I had a little pregnancy moment the other week when I went to pick up the gifts my dad and step-mom got for us. They'd bought them off our registry and then arranged it so the Babies-r-Us by our home had them for me to pick up. My dad kept secret what they had gotten, and as the Babies-r-Us employee wheeled out our jogging stroller and pack-n-play I seriously had to fight back tears. I was overwhelmed with gratitude and just so touched. So, there you have it, I pretty much started crying in Babies-r-Us over a stroller and portable crib thing! Also, ever since we've had the crib, rocker, and dresser, I can't help but poke my head into the room (almost every night!) and, on occasion, I have found Brandon sitting in the rocker just soaking it all in. It is feeling more real.
Anyway, check out our baby stuff...
WOW..very cool stuff! Cant wait to see it in person !!
