Four Generations

Four Generations

Wow, it has been a LONG time since I have posted anything. It's funny that such a little person can absorb so much of our focus, time, and energy! I do feel pretty good about the fact that I am finding time to exercise almost everyday (thanks to Brandon and my mom (she brought me some exercise dvds!)), taking a shower everyday (a surprising number of new moms don't!), eating some good, healthy food for three square meals, checking my emails, skyping with family, cleaning the apartment, doing laundry (which seems to have more than doubled even though Alyse's clothes are oh-so small!), and beginning to cook some dinners on the days that Alyse will happily play in her bouncy chair for 30 minutes or so...but, keeping up with our blog has been another story :)

SO, I am dedicating a few posts to playing catch up...

Grandma Karen treated Alyse and I to a trip to South Florida to visit all of her side of the family. We had four generations all together, which honestly kind of blows my mind. I kept asking my grandma what it felt like to have her grandchildren become parents! It was an amazing visit spending time with my grandparents, my mom's sister and her husband, and meeting up with my two cousins and their families plus my great aunt. We also got to enjoy some fresh air with Lisi and took her walking outside (even though it was "cold" in Flordia)! The simple pleasures when you live somewhere so wintry! Watching my grandparents hold Alyse made me tear up. My grandma summed the visit up when she was saying good-bye and said, "My heart is so full-- I feel very blessed." Check out the pics and stay tuned for another update soon:

Grandma Karen first came to Baltimore and then flew with us to Florida...what a trooper!

Lisi's first flight...waiting in the airport. She was a GREAT little traveler!

Great-grandma (GG) Adele

Great-grandpa Yale

Three generations of women in the fam :)

I love this baby!!!

And I love this grandma!!!

First trip to the ocean! We opted to walk on the sidewalk instead of the actual beach because it was pretty rough waters and high tide, but the important part was tha Alyse got to hear the ocean and feel the salty air...well, at least I'm imagining that she did since she promptly fell asleep as soon as Grandma Karen put her in the Ergo Carrier :)

After all was said and done, Lisi was exhausted... being doted on and held so much can be pretty tiring :)
