Did We See This Already?

When Brandon and I were dating, I could count the number of movies we saw together on one hand. Now, we rent movies (from Red Box...we love the dollar movie rentals!) or watch TV shows online (We don't have a TV, but for the first time in 10 years I have started watching a TV series and love it. So, when I get to pick what we watch I choose "Life" and Brandon chooses "Man vs. Wild") at least once every weekend! Funny how things change once you're married. I mean, it's a changed partly due to the fact that it's been so freezing cold that we don't want to go out and schlepp (shout out to my Jewish heritage) all over Baltimore, we are saving money and a dollar movie or free online TV is a very cheap way to have entertainment, and we've all of a sudden become movie buffs. Well, not quite movie buffs...listen to what happenned last weekend...

We rented a Red Box movie, "Vantage Point", and started to watch it. (Oh, an important side note...Brandon and I both have really poor memories. It's hard for us to remember things from childhood, last week, or sometimes even two days ago. So, remembering things, like if we've already seen a movie, is sometimes just too much to recall.) The entire first half of the movie consisted of Brandon and I saying to each other, "I think I've seen this before...did we see this together...that scene looks so familiar but I can't remember what happens in the movie...have we seen this before?" It was hilarious! We finally figured out that we had not seen the movie, but had seen the preview (which showed almost the whole movie and made it look much cooler than it was) and that's why we hadn't been able to remember the ending!

I was just about to end this posting by letting you know the favorite movies we've rented over the last two months, but, funny thing, I really can't even remember any of them!

  1. That's hilarious. I have been guilty of that on occasion. Usually with movies that were mediocre and not worth remembering. I need to come up this month and give you that TV!

  3. Hi Mags,
It's Melissa-your old D.C. roommate. I clicked over from Mandy's blog and just wanted to say hi. Congrats on getting married. It sounds like you two are doing great. I can't believe you are living in Baltimore. Some of your posts brought back old memories. I really liked Towson, that was a nicer area. Hope the job searching goes well. My blog is http://everydaywithmj.blogspot.com if you want to check it out.
