The Fallen Snow & the Morning Light

Yesterday we woke up to over half a foot of snow on the ground! Believe it or not, this is actually a pretty spectacular phenomenon to blog about because it's very rare in Baltimore to go to sleep with no snow on the ground, and wake up with it looking like this:

Yes, that is my beloved tree in the bottom pic! I actually took these pics today, so if you can imagine snow covering all the sidewalks and the parking lot, and the tree, then you'll have a realistic picture of what it was like yesterday morning...and what it looked like as Brandon drove to work! He drove to work before the roads were even cleared and drove really, really slowly. I, on the other hand, only left the apartment to scrape off my car before it got too icy, and other than that I stayed inside, enjoying the snow from our bay window.

Almost every morning, after Brandon has left for work and I make my way out of the warm bed into the 55 degree air, and after I crank our thermostat up to a whopping 64 degrees, I open up our bedroom windows...and a flood of sunlight comes in, warming the room, and bringing a smile to my face.

I really do love this little apartment and our wooded neighborhood!
