Catching Up

Last week, Monday through Saturday, I was here:

With these:

Driving this:

Doing service with this organization:

The Way Home: A path to freedom for ex-offenders in Delaware.

Then, I left Sunday night- Wendesday afternoon for here:

And, tomorrow, I leave for here:

While I've been gone, Brandon has been doing this:

In case that picture story was hard to decode, here's the rundown of why we (and I mean "I") have not been blogging...I spent last week chaperoning a service trip for the school I will start working full-time at in August. Yes, that's right, I spent 6 days wtih 25 teenagers (and many of the boys actually were lacrosse players like the pic above), lived with them, ate and cooked with them, had a "sleepover" with the girls with all of us sleeping on the floor, drove them around in a "short bus", and served with them. It was exhausting and a very cool experience. Brandon came and met me (he even left work early and drove 3 hours there one day and three hours back the next day, just so we could hang out!) and got to experience the trip for one night and day. THEN, with less than 24 hours at home, I was off to Vermont for a conference for my new job (all expenses paid!). I have already learned a ton and am excited to get home and continue planning for the school year. After the conference ends tomorrow, I am driving to Maine to visit my grandparents and then, finally, on Saturday afternoon I will fly home for good and get to be back in my routine...until Girls' camp in three and a half weeks. Brandon has been enjoying having the bed to himself, eating whatever he wants, not having to talk for hours (it's not really hours, but that's what it seems like to him!) when he gets home from work, and, of course, watching lots of A's games...and, he's missed me a ton :)

Stay tuned for our next blog post about our visit from Mom and Dad Woodland!
