This is B-
Dawg reporting from B-More...haven't contributed much to the blog (none at all) except for my beautiful face in the pictures. I was motivated to post this note to help clear up Maggie's erroneous post from June 23rd. If you recall, she was "busy" on her St. Paul's service/learning trip to
Rehoboth Beach (really a big sleepover party) and her work conference to the beautiful mountains of Vermont and her vacation to the idyllic coast of
Kennebunkport, Maine (Summer vacation spot of such luminaries as George Bush, Sr., IBM CEO (Sam
Palmisano), etc.). She painted the picture of me relaxing all evening watching tons of sports and eating whatever I wanted.
The truth is I kept my normal disciplined schedule of rising early to get in a work-out before I slaved all day in my cubicle (no beach in sight, just a bunch of spreadsheets). The fact is I spent my limited post-work hours starting to study for the GMAT, talking to Maggie for countless hours on the phone, and helping young men find their way in life. I was able to squeeze in some mountain climbing conditioning w/ Chris in the
Shenandoahs (He was training for Mt. Rainer, which he
summitted successfully- congrats)

The last couple of weeks have been relatively low-key, with the
highlight being yesterday afternoon's trip to Oregon Ridge Beach which is a pond/lake where a quarry used to be in
Baltimore County (near
Cockeysville, MD)

After enjoying the water/sand we headed to a highly-rated (voted best in B-more) local
BBQ joint called Andy Nelson's Barbecue, where we saw about half of our ward (okay, we only saw two other families, but that is a lot for out here!). Maggie was
enferma the week before that, so we watched some movies and we even found Baltimore's equivalent of a "Dollar Theater" (it was only $3).
Thanks for the update Brandon, I appreciate your side of the story, and I actually believe you when you say you were hard at work and studying for the GMAT. I remember those CFA days when you could not tear yourself away! I guess those days are coming back...sorry Maggie! And how did Chris's face make it on the blog?
ReplyDeleteWow! You guys ARE still alive! Whew! I call off the search party! hehe...Anyway, it's your crazy sister here! It was good to read your Spanglish. It's a good thing I remember a bit other wise I wouldn't know that Maggie was sick! I hate being sick! I'm glad she's feeling better though! Also, I'm not AT ALL surprised that you are studying for the GMAT. When do you plan to take it? Right now I'm taking two master's classes through University of Phoenix Online. They're keeping me busy! Thankfully, one of them ends next week and the other will end three weeks after that! Unfortunately for me, that last week of class is going to be my first week of teaching teenagers AND my first week of my next master's class at Northern Arizona University. Confused yet? I'm already feeling the stress and it's still a few weeks away! Anyway, think more about Christmas! We would love to see you in CA!
ReplyDeleteFrom Mama Karen: It's great to hear from the B-Dawg on the blog! WE know you are working hard in your cubicle AND studying too = good thing Mags bakes nutritious cookies to fuel the brain waves, right?! And now you are bacheloring it again while she goes off to YW Camp. We can't wait to see you AND have you at our home here in Utah in just 2.5 weeks. We'll make sure YOU have even more fun than Maggie too! Thanks for your view from the 'Woodlands'. Love you tons too.
