Luckily, I have been broken into calling my mom "grandma" by my step-sister Stephanie's daughter, Hannah. (In the family picture I posted the other week, she is the little, cute, blondie sitting on her mom's knee.) Otherwise, it would be pretty weird thinking of my mom as a grandma and having her do "grandma" type things, like take me to Ikea to shop for her granddauther :) Okay, it was kind of also to shop for me since I am really the one who will appreciate what we got (at least a lot sooner than our baby will!): a dresser!

It was so great to have her here, and we had fun just hanging out at the apartment for a day. She helped me put the whole dresser together, and those of you that shop Ikea know that it can be a big task to assemble your purchase!

I also took her to Babies-r-Us just to show her what I'd been looking at (stroller and pack-n-play). We got to eat crab with Brandon at a place downtown and even went on a little hike and stuck our feet in a stream.

We feel SO grateful for all of the family who have made the effort to come visit us this summer. It was wonderful to have my mom in town for a few days, and we can't wait to welcome her back in November as "Grandma Karen". She already promised to grocery shop and stock our fridge and freezer with prepared meals...and, of course, hold "baby girl Woodland" a whole lot.
Love the A's hat in the top picture. I'm glad to see you've been indoctrinated!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for the arrival of Baby Girl Woodland. I'm so excited! Yeah! I'm glad your mom got to visit! It's great to have family come in and take care of us! Keep posting those preggers pictures! I love it!
ReplyDeleteHow fun to get baby girl things and get all ready! I know I already emailed you that- just had to say it again :)
