The other day while on my weekly outing to Target (love that place and since the weather has been cold or rainy for SO long I have made Target a weekly outing!) I bought Alyse a sunhat. The purpose of the purchase was two-fold:
I must admit that I LOVE dressing Alyse, so I got the hat partly because I thought it would be super cute for the summer.
BUT, there was also a practical reason for the hat because Alyse and I have been participating in an exercise class that is BYOB (bring your own baby). It might sound hokey, but let me put your concerns to rest and say that it is a good workout. It all started when Brandon got me a groupon for Christmas (he thought I needed to get out of the house, mingle with other moms, and exercise-- which was all true) and we have been going now for almost two months. During the cold weather it takes place in the mall-- no need for a sunhat there-- but now that it is (finally!) warm out, we are meeting at a park...hence the utilitarian purpose of Alyse's new pink hat :)
I have also been starting to get back into running a little at a time. I'm so inspired by my sister-in-law who has been training for a half-marathon and I'm starting to re-develop the nice relationship I had with running pre-pregnancy...I used to love it and I think I'm starting to fall for it again! So, Alyse and I are spending more and more time outside. In fact, just this evening I took her out in her bathing suit and pink hat and had her "swim" in her bath tub on the lawn outside our apartment.
Oh, to balance out the wearing of the pink hat, we also have her wearing her daddy's A's hat (and wearing the Uncle Sean present of the A's onsie)!
What a bathing beauty! I can't wait for her to start swimming too. SO FUN!!!
ReplyDeleteYou need a matching hat :) That class sounds like fun! I'm glad you're enjoying running again. I'm enjoying it from my treadmill and outside on weekends! Love you Mags!
ReplyDeleteI love hearing about/seeing the fun things you get to do every day! It makes me feel like I'm doing the wrong things...
ReplyDeleteI'm happy that it still seems to fit her! Go A's!!
