Chicago Temple: We made a day trip out of it, packed a bunch of food and toys for Alyse, and traded off going into the temple and staying outside with Alyse. She and Brandon took a "nature" (remember, we live in the city, so anywhere there are lots of trees is more nature-y than where we live!) and saw some deer right next to the temple. Alyse and I went and sat on a blanket in some shady grass and she ate her lunch-- it was really cute because she was clearly enjoying being outside, feeling the wind on her face, and looking at the trees. She actually wouldn't sit upright, but only wanted to lay down on the blanket and eat her lunch staring up at the sky and into the tree limbs!
BBQ at the Point: Most of our friends here are students, so they were all on Spring Break too. We met at Prominotory Point Park and had a BBQ in one of the fire pits. It's an awesome view and is super close by our home. We had a great time roasting hot dogs and s'mores, and just letting the kids run around in the beautiful weather.
Outlets: We made the trek out to the suburbs to do some outlet shopping and it was well worth the trip. Brandon took his bday gift money and we had a really fun day!
Brandon just reminded me that it's already "week 3" of the school quarter, so it's been a while since Spring break...it was a well earned and needed rest, though, so I'm glad to go back and document it a bit.
