One fun thing about having moved away from dear friends is that now they can come visit us! We had a chance to hang out with "my old friend" Camille a few weeks ago and it was great. She's one of those friends that I can go a while without talking or seeing and then when we do get to hang out it's really fun and comfortable. Camille is one of the most kind, easygoing, and fun people I know and she was super sweet with Alyse, which was really cute.
We just hung out part of the time and also did a few touristy things (Shedd, Girls' Night Out down the Mag. Mile, Chicago Deep Dish Pizza).

The morning after Camille left, Alyse came out of her room waving hello toward the living room where Camille had been sleeping. When she saw that Cam wasn't there, Alyse just kept pointing and looking at me: "Where did my new friend go, mom?"

Too cute!! I'm excited about seeing you guys in Cali this summer. My mom said you are going to southern CA to be with your family this summer. When is that happening? I want to make it to Morgan Hill before you go south! I gotta see this niece of mine walking!!
