Stay-at-home Prego

(Caveat: It has taken so long to post because we moved to a new apartment (hence the "new view from the Woodlands pic) and just got internet set up. Prepare for a deluge of new posts close together-- we've been saving up!)

This is my very first posting as a "stay-at-home" pregnant woman :) My high school-based job ended June 10th, and I am now fully into my vacation time-- sleeping in, staying in my pjs as long as I want, spending time with a different friend every day, moving in more to our new apartment...AND going on a trip to Puerto Rico with Brandon! We got back June 17th, so this will be the first of a few postings about our awesome trip-- our "babymoon". We decided to do this trip a few months back and it was perfect for us: direct flight from Bmore, potential for adventure and relaxation, tropical and a different culture all rolled into one.

Day One and Two of Puerto Rico:

San Juan- We flew into the capital city and spent one night there. Our hotel was literally right on the beach, and we immediately went to the water-- turquoise blue Caribbean coastline. We explored Old San Juan that night and walked the cobblestone streets with brightly painted rowhouses. Some people like spending a lot of time in San Juan, but we wanted to get out of the city, so we stayed in a little northeastern coastal village, Luquillo, the rest of the time.

El Yunque- On our way to Luquillo, we spent a whole day in the rainforest hiking and playing in waterfalls. It was lush and green and alive with the continuous sound of the famous "coqui" frogs.
We hiked the El Yunque Peak trail to the "highest peak" in PR, and the view of the island was great

Very large leaves in the rainforest, but unfortunately no cool animal sightings.

More to come later...in fact, probably later today (I'm sure you're dying to hear every detail of our trip!)
